Friday, June 25, marked the first of two nights of Ghana’s prestigious Music Awards, VGMA22 organised by event conglomerates, Charterhouse and sponsored by Vodafone.
In all, 13 awards were given out on day one of the 22nd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The main highlights of the night: MOG Music for the second consecutive time won the Male Vocalist of the Year award; Kofi Kinaata setting industry record by winning Songwriter of the Year award for the fourth time. MzVee won best Video of the Year, Keche won Group of the Year, new artiste Abiana won Female Vocalist of the Year.
The main event held will be held tonight, Saturday, June 25.

3. Instrumentalist of the Year- Nana Yaw Sarfo-
4. Traditional Artiste of the Year- Manhyia Tete Nwomkro
5. Songwriter of the Year- Kofi Kinaata – Behind the Scenes
6. Music for Good- Yaayaa
7. Male Vocalist of the Year- MOGmusic – Oguamma
8. Female Vocalist of the Year- Abiana – Adun Lei
9. Best Group of the Year- Keche
10. Producer of the Year- Richie Mensah
11. Best African Artiste- Master KG
12. Best Video of the Year- Baddest Boss – MzVee
13. Lifetime Achievement Award- Bob Pinodo
